The Premier Crafts team love nothing more than getting the opportunity to maximise a home’s potential and deliver dramatic results, and that’s exactly what this recent project required.
It began with a simple vision: to create a brighter, bigger, beautifully functional kitchen that would become the true heart of the home for the growing McCarthy family.
The project
This transformative renovation involved a full kitchen extension and the complete reconfiguration of the ground floor of the McCarthy family’s home.
By extending the property outward by three metres and seamlessly integrating the existing external garage into the home, we unlocked valuable space for a generous kitchen and family living area.
The process
To minimise disruption, we kept the existing kitchen operational for as long as possible, carefully screening it off while groundworks and structural preparation took place. We installed specialist foundations to support the new steelwork. This was a crucial stage as it ensured that the extension was structurally robust and future-proof.
As soon as the opportunity arose, we rerouted and installed laundry services into the garage, helping our clients and their young family keep life ticking along smoothly throughout the project.
From there, the internal transformation could begin. This involved precision-fit flooring preparation, bespoke cabinetry manufacturing, and installation of premium appliances and storage solutions.
The result
The finished space is a calm, modern kitchen with a warm, natural character. The design features Belay Woodgrain doors in Reed Green for a contemporary, bead-free look, paired with Strata Absolute Marbled White Quartz worktops in a solid 30mm profile.
Premium AEG Premier Line appliances elevate the space with advanced cooking technology, including venting hobs and digital-interface ovens. Intelligent internal storage, from half-tandem larders to bespoke pantry cabinetry and integrated pull-out bins, ensures that every inch of the kitchen is beautifully efficient.
The flooring features Karndean Canadian Urban Oak LVT, installed after full professional floor preparation, creating a seamless and durable foundation throughout the space. Finishing touches such as the tongue-and-groove decorative panelling on the island and full-height quartz splashbacks complete the look, bringing texture, quality, and cohesion to the entire room.
The result is a carefully crafted, highly functional kitchen and family space. It’s entirely tailored to the client, built to last, and designed to be lived in.
